If you’ve been pulled over and accused of a drunk driving offense, or more commonly referred to as a DUI or DWI, then you probably have a lot of questions. You are probably scared, confused, and a little angry if you didn’t feel you deserved it.
Regardless of the circumstances surrounding your incident you need to take immediate action to protect yourself, your freedom, and most importantly your driver’s license. You should consult with an attorney who specializes in DUI defense immediately. If you cannot afford to retain an attorney then consider meeting with one during a free consultation to get as much free help as possible. Here are some things you should consider:
1. Contact DMV and request a hearing within the specified amount of time (usually between 7-10 days depending on the state) to try and save your drivers license.
2. The time limit is calculated from the issue date of the temporary driver license or order of revocation which is usually the day of your arrest.
3. If you are out of state, or hold an out of state license that state’s DMV will still take action against your license.
4. This temporary driver license (paper one the cop gave you) is valid for only a few days from the issue date unless you request a DMV hearing. If your DMV hearing is requested the motor vehicles will “stay”" your suspension and your temporary license will be extended until the hearing is complete.
5. Don’t get the DMV hearing and the court appearance confused. The outcome of one almost never affects the outcome of the other.
In the DMV hearing, the hearing officer will decide on certain issues like whether the police officer had a legal reason to stop you; whether the police officer had a legal reason to arrest you; and whether or not the blood, breath, or urine result/test is reliable enough to suspend your license. This type of hearing is considered administrative and not criminal so if you expect to be represented you will need your own lawyer.

Do you know what a didgeridoo is? Do you want to do or learn something different? Find out about it and do it on the Web.
Do you know what a didgeridoo is? There are so many things in this life that are unknown to us. I bet you could find out about something outside your normal sphere of vision and experience everyday for the rest of your life and still not get close to knowing about everything out there. Not to mention the number of things we don’t know about our own internal selves-physical, emotional, spiritual and mental realities that are still unaware to us. That’s another story however, let’s stick to the external in this article.
I play the didgeridoo. It’s a sacred Australian Aborigine instrument, arguably one of the oldest instruments in humankind’s long history. If you type didgeridoo into your search engine you will see hundreds of sites about this thing that you’ve never even heard of. You don’t know how many people I’ve mentioned it to around the world that never have even heard the word.
One site I found to be quite thorough and useful was: http://www.echotree.com.au/index.htm
This retail site explains in detail how a didgeridoo is made (it is a termite-hollowed branch or tree trunk), how to choose the right one for you, and of course instruction on how to play. It explains how to recognize a quality piece and they say that they can even custom make one to your desires. Each didj has a key or root note, and they can be made of several types of wood, some better than others. Placed on the mouthpiece is bee’s wax which makes for an airtight seal against the face as well as protecting one’s mouth from getting cut by sharp edges.
To give you an idea of the incredible feat it was for the first Aborigines to make this music 40-60,000 years ago I’ll give you a perspective on how it is played. You place your mouth in the whole at the top of the hollowed wood upon the bees wax coating. Then you vibrate your lips against the edge of the wood, filling your cheeks with air at the same time to keep the sound constant. The sound never stops and this is because you circular breathe-in through the nose and out through your mouth at the same time. Sounds difficult, and it is for some like myself, it took me 9 months to get my mind around it. A friend of mine however did it in a couple of days, and babies breathe this way naturally! Pretty cool.
On this site as others you can look at a gallery of instruments, clicking on the ones that interest you. They are all individual (like snowflakes and humans) and characteristics such as key, wood type, length and artist are given. Echo Tree specifically mentions that all their artwork is individually hand-painted by Aborigine artists and no two are alike. So unlike many Western musical instruments that are ubiquitously constructed, you can have one that is different to all others.
The didgeridoo is just another example of how the Internet or World Wide Web can be the medium of discovery in our lives. It is a collective source for all the ideas, creations and beliefs in our world. Anyone that connects can add to the rich melting pot of consciousness. This ‘virtual’ space that we all feed and digest from is truly the next step in the evolution of humanity. Do you want to do or learn something different? You know where to go.

After an electricution accident, contact your insurance company and your lawyer as soon as possible. There are situations when no one is responsible of an accident, but that’s definitely the case with any electricution accident. All lawyers in Los Angeles will be delighted to take your case to the court. Why? Because (1) someone HAS to be guilty in this kind of accident and (2) it’s probably not your fault.
The only possible reason for an electricution accident
No one deliberately risk one’s life playing with electricity, so generally speaking the only possible way to get a “natural” electricution is to be struck by lightning. In all other cases it is someone’s fault. Most electricution accidents are caused by ungrounded electric-powered appliances or other machines, so it is usually clear that someone who is responsible for maintaining them made a mistake and thus gave some work for electricution accident lawyers. Los Angeles ones are no exception here and they really look forward to getting their part of the cake.
Coping with the results of an electricution. Accident lawyers from Los Angeles might really help!
Of course the first and the most serious effects of electricution are the health hazards or even death. But in this article we deal mostly with things that happen afterwards. The moment you get to hospital the battle begins - the institution that is potentially responsible of the accident starts marshalling its arguments. They look for any possibility that the electricution accident was only your fault and sometimes even your deliberate action. The latter is potentially disastrous, because your insurance company will do everything to cancel your insurance and any argumentation that shows the possibility of your deliberate action will be quickly adopted by your insurance company. So better don’t hesitate and hire some electricution accident lawyers. Los Angeles is full of them, so you shouldn’t have any problem with finding the proper lawyers. I know they may be expensive, but you simply need someone who will defend you, especially if you’re still in hospital.
Possible problems
If your health hasn’t suffered much, the rest will be fairly easy. It is much simpler to prove that the accident was caused by somebody’s mistake than that it was only your fault.

The digital camera is not meant only for capturing images and storing them on the computer memory disks. The real effect comes from the hard copy of those fantastic images taken by the users, that is the printed photographs! In order to get the printer copy of the images a very important device necessary is the printer. The digital image printing requires a few numbers of components that comprises the total process of printing. This discussion is thus primarily focused towards analyzing and understanding this whole experience of digital camera printers.
Scrutinizing in some more detail, it can be observed that in digital photography some really good and fantastic one-trick-pony printers have filled up the market that are exclusively designed for the sake of printing digital camera photos. These printers are not for the purpose of printing everyday documents, simply because their cartridges and photo paper, that are sold together in single boxes, are not cheap and thereby economic for such purposes. Thus they are solely for the reason of getting the images into physical paper with a high degree of perfection and elevated quality. In these printers the ink and paper are by and large sold together in single boxes, and the average print costs to around 30 to 70 cents. However the biggest advantage remains that these printers themselves are inexpensive.
Looking at the advantages of these digital camera printers, the very first and the most significant one is that these printers do not require a computer for their functioning. They have the ability of printing directly from the digital camera, which enables the users to take and use them on the road too! A few examples of such great printers are Canon’s Selphy DS700 and CP330; the Olympus P-10; Sony’s FP30 and EX50; Epson’s Picture Mate; and Hewlett-Packard’s Photo smart 375. Some digital cameras nowadays enable the users to connect them directly to a PictBridge printer using a standard USB cable. And then obtain the printed photographs. Another loom is to include memory-card slots right on the printer as a result the users do not run down the camera’s battery while printing.
The above discussion reveals almost all the rudimentary yet important information regarding the digital camera printers and it is expected that more and more users of the digital cameras would appreciate this fantastic device!

That’s the reason why now you really need to check up on and ascertain if you can have a loan at a secure percent interest rate. Many of the merchant banks wil show you a rate that looks ok but doesn’t feel comfortably or so after a period of time. Analyze to see if the moneylender who is willing to give you a money loan is solid. It doesn’t matter if you live in Las Cruces New Mexico or in Detroit Michigan a honest online investigation will spare you often lots of incommode. At present you can check up on rates quickly online and look if there are other possible traps you should be aware of. A merchant bank in Boca Raton Florida or so can have a total different actual rate of interest for a 15000 dollar credit loan then a bank in Fort Collins Colorado and that makes a immense clear gap in your yearly pay offs. Be impertinent today to check up if you have a great deal or if you don’t with the bank that offers you a credit loan. 5.7 percent rate of interest may come along so comely but will that be unalterable after you’re going to give back your bank loan.

It is a party of long separation. A colleague very dear to you in your workplace is either taking up another job or is retiring, so you want to give him a farewell party. The party is thrown in honour of the person who is going away to show how much you care and how much you will remember them. It can be that a group of colleagues or a group of friends have assembled to share their memories of each other and their love for each other. It is an occasion of a little sadness, yet one must be cheerful so that the person whom you are giving a farewell can look forward in life. The person would prefer to share with you the old pictures and videos that would rekindle the past memories of togetherness.
You should give him gifts and often utility things that he would be able to use in his later life. You can also give him gifts that would honour him like giving a pen to a teacher. You can also give him things that he always wanted to buy but couldn’t. Do remember to always give them flowers, for example a
bouquet of cheerful yellow roses would be appropriate in such a situation. There are several types of bouquets which would serve as a perfect gift.

Make no mistake about it, Katie’s leaving The Today Show is a death. It’s a death for all of us who spent the last fifteen years being informed, entertained, challenged and comforted by her. If Katie was there when we awoke each morning, somehow it felt as if the world was in its proper place. Even if the news was not always joyful, she always was, and that seemed enough for us. And now she’s gone, and we are grieving her loss. We are mourning our mornings!
When someone dies, they must be mourned. They must be remembered for the good in their lives, they must be thanked for the contributions they made to those who remain, and stories about them must be told and re-told. When all of these happen, their death will be mourned not as a tragedy but simply as a normal event which takes place each and every day. Someone dies, someone is born, that is the way of the world.
But sometimes in our lives, someone comes along and makes a difference. Katie is one of those special people. We felt that she understood us normal folk, even if there was such a distance between her life and ours. She is extremely wealthy, most of us are not. She seems to float through life effortlessly, we seem to have more on our plates that need to be addressed. Her life appears to be flawless, without pain and struggle, unlike our own.
But that is not so. In fact, it is only because of the pain and suffering that she suffered in her own life that she could “touch us” emotionally. She knew what grief was all about, because she had to deal with the illness and death of a loved one just as we do. Her husband, Jay Monahan, died of colon cancer. It was all very sudden, with little warning, and they had two small children at the time. Katie talks about her ordeal in a marvelous Good Housekeeping article (http://magazines.ivillage.com/goodhousekeeping/hb/health/articles/0,,284594_290498-2,00.html)
that should be required reading for all those who love her. In the article she discusses her reactions to finding out Jay had cancer, her feelings as his cancer progressed, how his death affected her and the kids, and how she became a vocal advocate for cancer screening after his death. She did not allow Jay’s death to overwhelm her, she used Jay’s death to bring hope to others. And she became a deeper and more giving personality because of what she experienced. His death was her teacher.
Katie knows how pain looks and feels, and so she can speak to us with honesty and with a realistic understanding of the pain we go through when someone we love dies or is struck down by a dread disease. And that is why we love her so much, she is believable because she “knows” what she’s talking about. We trust her because she’s “been there.” She understands well that we only learn anything about ourselves by how we respond to the losses in our lives.
It may have seemed that NBC took a long time to say goodbye to her, but that isn’t so. She touched so many, and they each needed to say goodbye in their own way. And now she moves on to another network, another context, another life. No one knows what her future will look like. But we all know that her past was a glorious one, a gift to us all. Thank you, Katie, we wish you godspeed in your new career.

An entertaining WW2 spy romance very much inspired by the timeless classic Casablanca.
John Schlesinger directs Ian McEwan’s solid script (from his own novel) that does not take too many chances.
The movie has the classic “old man remembers the past in a 2-hour flashback” structure.
A young British electronics genius Leonard (played by the American Campbell Scott) is sent to WW2 Berlin to tap into Soviet communications from an underground tunnel dug and fortified over the ten years by the Americans.
Leonard’s American boss Bob Glass (played by a Brit, Anthony Hopkins) is a tough and experienced task master who frequently warns Leonard about leaking information about his super secret mission.
When Leonard falls in love at a night club with the lovely Maria (the alluring Isabella Rossellini) things take a sharp turn both for the better (love) and worse (a gruesome murder follows). Leonard is the “innocent” in the title of the movie who has his education coming for him in a hurry.
In a Casablanca like penultimate scene, Maria sacrifices her love in order to save Leonard’s neck and opts to stay with Bob. She ends up marrying Bob and migrate to America and have 3 kids.
The final scene puts us in the midst of celebration of the coming down of the Berlin Wall in 1989. A much older Leonard — in a coincidence that is not too clear — again meets with Maria (but of course!).
Bob is dead and gone some time ago. Maria’s three grown-up children leave the old love birds alone for old time’s sakes as they climb the sections of the Berlin Wall to join the Berliners in their historic day.
The movie fades out with that beautiful Nat King Cole tune ringing in our ears. The Cold War ends but True Love never does.
A good entertainment for the fans of WW2 spy flicks in which an American actor speaks perfect British, a British actor speaks passable American, and an Italian actor speaks English better than she does German.
Gets a 7 out of 10.

Her father, engineer Riccardo Scicolone, was married when he began an affair with her mother, Romilda Villani, a piano teacher/artist/actress. He never helped raising Sofia Villani Scicolone, but he did allow her and her sister Maria to use his surname. He was never an active part of Sofia and Maria’s lives. Later in life, Ms. Loren actually had to pay him to acknowledge her younger sister publicly.
Although Sofia was born in Rome, Italy, she grew up in poverty in the war - torn town of Pozzuoli outside of Naples. As she grew, she went through all of the awkward changes that young people encounter. She bore the nicknames “La Stuzzicadiente” (toothpick) and “Stechetto” (stick) through these changes. Because of the impoverished conditions in her life, she was always small and underweight. On top of that, she was teased about the size of her nose. In spite of all of this, she knew that she could be an actress one day and she set out to do just that. She made a solemn vow to fulfill her dream. Her mother, who harbored dreams of acting herself, encouraged her oldest daughter to pursue those.
At the age of 16, Sofia began doing bit parts in Italian movies. She also competed in regional beauty contests and received several prizes. She began posing for illustrations in Italian romance stories called “fotoromanzi”. At that time, she used the names Sofia Villani and Sofia Lazzaro. In 1951 she and her mother appeared as extras in the movie “Quo Vadis”, which was filmed in Rome. This gave her a small taste of Hollywood and bolstered her determination to be an actress.
Backing up here briefly in the timeline, in 1950, Sofia placed as a runner - up in the Miss Italy contest. Later that same year, she placed second in the Miss Rome contest. Her biggest prize that year, though, came in the form of her future husband, Carlo Ponti - a much older film director/producer. He was a judge of one of her competitions and was immediately attracted to the beauteous Miss Scicolone. Gone was the wafer-thin child. In her place was a statuesque (5′ 7″), voluptuous, young woman. The attraction was mutual. She would say later in life, “I needed a father, I needed a husband. I was adopted by Carlo and married my father”.
Mr. Ponti immediately took control of the direction of Sofia’s career. Although her screen tests did not go well, he was not discouraged. In an attempt to get away from the image of a vamp, which she often portrayed in the comic strip style stories of the fotoromanzi - or fumletti - Mr. Ponti arranged for her to take on bit parts which often required little or no clothing. He hoped to capitalize on her well - endowed form to catapult her into more legitimate films.
Sources differ at to who actually changed Sofia Scicolone’s name to Sophia Loren in 1952. Some say that it was a producer who was trying to disassociate her from the characters that she posed for in the fotoromanzi. Others say that it was Carlo Ponti himself who renamed her, then offered her a firm contract and made her his mistress.
Theirs was a situation complicated by the fact that Mr. Ponti was married and had two children. He wanted to marry his mistress, but the Catholic Church threatened excommunication and labeled Miss Loren a “concubine”. While he tried to resolve the repercussions which would come about with a divorce she went on to make movies and “battle” with her onscreen “rival”, Gina Lollabrigida.
Through carefully planned publicity and her role in “Gold of Naples” (1954), Sophia Loren arrived in Hollywood. One of her first roles which brought her to the attention of the American public, was in the 1959 movie, “Boy On a Dolphin”. she was scantily clad in an outfit which became transparent and clingy when wet. Of course, her generous physical endowments were very much in evidence when she left the ocean and arrived on the beach. The public either loved it, or hated it, in accordance with their morals, beliefs, etc. Remember, this was the late 1950s. People then were not as “enlightened” as we are today.
In 1957, producers paired the newest Hollywood sex symbol with Cary Grant in “The Pride and the Passion”. Mr Grant was “bewitched, bothered and bewildered” and impulsively proposed marriage. This evident and public display of ardor stirred Mr. Ponti into action. He petitioned the divorce courts in Mexico. The dissolution of his marriage and his consequential marriage to Miss Loren were performed by proxy in Mexico. The Vatican, refusing to recognize the divorce, or his marriage to Miss Loren, immediately labeled Mr. Ponti a bigamist. The fallout was a huge scandal and the newlyweds were forced to annul their marriage. They remarried in 1966, however, once Mr. Ponti was able to resolve the brouhaha with the Church.
In spite of her burgeoning success as an actress, Miss Loren had one goal that she had not achieved. She wanted to carry a child and become a mother. She suffered through several devastating and heartrending miscarriages before carrying to term and delivering, her first child in 1969. His doting parents named him Carlo Ponti, Jr. Four years later she gave birth to his younger brother, Eduardo. Her joy exceeded even that of her Academy Award and honors which she received for her role in 1960 in Vittorio De Sica’s film, “Two Women”. About being a mother she said, “A mother has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child”.
Miss Loren remained very popular with movie goers throughout the 1960s. She starred with several leading men of that decade including Marcello Mastroianni, Cary Grant, Richard Burton, Clark Gable, Charlton Heston, Paul Newman, Marlon Brando, John Wayne and Peter Sellers. She was popular not only for her beauty, but also for her quick wit, sense of humor and her insight. One of her favorite and often repeated, quotes involved her personal dietary habits. When asked how she maintained her beauty and her figure, she said, “Everything you see, I owe to spaghetti”.
After becoming a mother Miss Loren continued to act, but reduced her acceptance of roles and the consequent filming schedule, to devote time to her children. She did continue to act, however and maintained a health modicum of her popularity. Throughout this time she remained a lovely and timeless beauty. She expanded her career through films, as well as a surprising best - selling album of humorous songs that she recorded with peter Sellers. In 1980, she starred in a made - for - TV movie based upon her own life. Not only did she play herself, but the role of her mother as well. The movie won critical acclaim.
In 1982, she made headlines for a legal problem. She was jailed for 18 days for tax evasion charges in Italy. It did not, however, diminish her popularity or star status. Nor did it damage her career.
As she approached her 60s, Miss Loren became more particular about her film roles, moving on to writing and publishing cookbooks and promoting her perfume, eye wear and jewelry lines. As with her acting career, she approached these endeavors enthusiastically and has been successful and popular with people around the world for them.
She co-starred in 1995 in the comedy sequel “Grumpier Old Men”, playing Walter Matthau’s love interest. Even at her age then she was still beautiful, romantic and undoubtedly sexy. Recent pictures show that time has not diminished her timeless, classic beauty. She is well - established and deserving, of the title which was given to her so many years ago. And in her modest style she still maintains the she never set out to be a star, she just wanted to be an actress. I’d say that she more than achieved her dreams and goals.
Since her filmography, awards and honors are quite extensive, they will not be listed here. For those who are “fans”, you can find more information about this incredible and timeless beauty on various websites.

Mel Brooks is Crazy!
Film producer Mel Brooks was born Melvin Kaminsky on June 28, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York. Brooks was married to Anne Bancroft who died last year. They were married for 41 years.
Learn more about Mel Brooks at http://www.answers.com/topic/mel-brooks
What went wrong with Mel Brooks?
I heard that his mother wanted him to be a dentist or get into the diamond business.
Instead he hung out with a bad bunch consisting of Sid Caesar, Carl Reiner, and Gene Wilder and others like them. All they ever wanted to do was Clown Around.
I talked to an old pal of Mel’s named Jesse “Ankles” Midweek.
“Ankles” is 85 years of age. A snappy dresser he still has a full set of hair and good teeth. He lives with his girlfriend, Dixie, in Brooklyn in the same house in which he was born. Dixie is from Louisiana, recently displaced by Katrina.
Here are excerpts from our interview:
Hack Writer, Taylor Jones: I appreciate your being willing to let me interview you, Mr. Midweek.
Midweek: I said, $150 not $100.
Hack: Sorry, I guess it slipped my mind.
Midweek: Well, don’t let it slip again, Taylor Jones, the hack writer.
Hack: You knew Mel Brooks when you were a boy, right?
Midweek: Who?
Hack: Sorry. You knew Melvin Kaminsky, right?
Midweek: I knew the little twerp. Have you seen him? He owes me a buck.
Hack: I’ll check that out for you. Did you see indications of his comedy genius when he was young?
Midweek: He was about as funny as prunes.
Hack: So, he wasn’t funny when he was a kid?
Midweek: Is road kill funny? I’ve got to go now. I’m taking my lady out to lunch with this dough you gave me.
I didn’t ask “Ankles” how he got his nickname but I noticed that they were like those of a baby elephant.
After that unfruitful interview I decided that more research was needed to find the trends that generated a great American Jewish comedian. I’ve traced back to some of Mel’s ancestors to see if I couldn’t find some trend that led him to his life of Just Fooling Around.
Here are some of the results of my detailed research:
His Father
Mel’s father was either George Meddling, Fred Hopkins, or Isaiah Freedman. With no DNA results there was no help for definitive research there.
I decided to follow the maternal line. Noting that women are hardly ever funny, I decided to stick with the men in the line. (Note: A funny woman like Imogene Coca or Carol Burnett is priceless because of rarity.)
Maternal Grandfather
I learned that this was not his mother’s real father. I had to stick with the maternal side.
Maternal Great-grandfather
I learned that his maternal great-grandfather was born in a lighthouse that had not been visited for 13 months. Therefore I was able to go directly to his maternal great-grandfather and his maternal great-great-grandfather for male-evidence trends leading to Mel’s humor.
I found absolutely nothing funny about these two gentlemen.
The first had a hobby of collecting fish skins.
The other had a great interest in natural history too and wrote an unpublished article entitled An Exciting Day in the Life of the Now Extinct Giant Land Sloth.
An improved article on this creature is at http://ladywildlife.com/animal/giantgroundslothinfo.htm. Don’t forget to click on the blue dot to see the pics. It was bigger than an elephant.
Conclusion
I’ve decided that Mel Brooks just got into a bad crowd.
As final proof I point out his association with Harvey Korman.
Korman was born in Chicago, if that isn’t enough.
Also, Harvey is only one year younger than Brooks. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harvey_Korman
