SNK Capital Trust Invests in Natural Fertilizers and Weed Inhibitors

SNK Capital Trust thinks that the way investors value companies is changing into a model that takes into account sales, profits and dividends but also long-term environmental and social costs. Phrases like “going green”, “eco-friendly” and “sustainable practices” are now much more than just cants to investors.

Alternative fuels and sustainable energy sources are getting a helping hand from governments via subsidies, tax breaks and social goodwill. This progressive space is also seeing massive inflows of institutional and venture capital, as worldwide funding grew more than 65% during 2006 according to a report from the United Nations Environment Programme.

Consumer alternatives and market demand will dictate most of what companies offer us. SNK Capital Trust has found that each time a product like a hybrid car or low-energy light bulb gains a large market, it sends a message to CEOs, stock analysts, institutional investors and venture capital funds.

Some companies, like SNK Capital Trustwill be leading the charge (whether for image or substance) even doing things aren’t immediately profitable in the short term; others will be happy to wait on the sidelines until they are driven to change, either through taxation or regulation. When the future inevitably becomes the here and now, companies who arrive late to the game not only risk higher than anticipated costs, they also risk falling behind their competitors in knowledge and shareholder image.

Voice Over IP - Saving Money

I was on a tech support call with a client in Australia for over forty-five minutes. Guess how much that cost me. If I told you less than a dollar, would you believe it? Well it is true indeed.

I called my friend in England just the other day. We talked for about half an hour and it didn’t cost either of us a nickel. Free and clear as crystal, I used my computer. Nothing fancy, just a simple sound card, speakers and microphone is all I needed.

If you haven’t heard about Voice over IP yet, you most definitely will soon. There are several different methods to the crazed digital telephony protocol that could change the way you make calls and save you a bundle.

What is VOIP?

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is the concept for managing the delivery of voice information in digital format through the Internet rather then conventional voice telephone lines. In the simplest form, VoIP turns any computer into a telephone.

Although there are complex and costly ways to do this in the enterprise level, there are also simple, nearly free ways do use VoIP on the personal level. All that’s required is a broadband Internet connection of some type. Now I am not here to advertise for any single organization selling VoIP equipment or services, but just to let you know, there are some that offer very nice package deals with equipment, Internet phones, headsets and all the fixings of standard enterprise phone systems. There are also software based systems that operate like your everyday chat systems and require only computer speakers and a microphone.

Why would I want this?

One major advantage of VoIP and Internet telephony is that it avoids the tolls charged by ordinary telephone services that use the standard public switched telephone network. Sure Pac Bell and ATT don’t like the sounds of that, not unless they figure out how to jump on the bandwagon and capitalize on this somewhat new form of technology.

Actually VoIP has been around for a while, yet it is starting to pick up speed now as an alternative means of communication. And the primary reason is that it will save you money.

Another money saving fact about VoIP is that since VoIP utilizes your broadband Internet connection for its delivery, customers do not pay Federal USF and FCC Line Charges and pay lower Federal Excise Tax.

WI-FI and VoIP

Now we’re getting serious! Where is this going? Can it really compete with the cell phone? Well, at this time the wireless technology has some security risks and setup difficulties to overcome before it becomes a significant player in the game. But on a local, enterprise level, we are not far off.

What is the bottom line?

If you are tired of lofty telephone bills, perhaps there is a solution for you that will help with this years budget. You don’t need to transform your entire phone system to utilize the benefits of VoIP. Start small and learn its potential.

A Rule for the Road:

Keep up with technology or else technology will pass you by; and the ignorance will cost you more than you will know.

The Single Most Important Thing to Know About Computer Phones (VoIP)

Over 90% of computer phones (VoIP) are not secure because they use a public known codex (publicly known encryption of sound packets) and a publicly known protocol to transport voice conversations. Therefore, users of these type of services are unknowingly exposing themselves to anyone who wants to listen in or access their confidential information. In addition, because of the public openness, the user’s computer’s vulnerability can result in a costly computer crash and total loss of all information.

Peer-to-peer computer phones are on unsecure lines.

There are five areas to address when checking for Security when looking for a VoIP Service Provider. Here’s how a VoIP Service should protect your security, whether on dial-up, wireless, satellite, or cable connections.

1. Call Security: A VoIP service’s audio (your voice) should compress your voice into proprietary encryption packets to travel across the internet, and return back to voice at destination. That particular VoIP service should host proprietary software, and as such, the only one that can interpret the voice and data contained in those packets.

2. Computer Phone Identity: When your first download and install a VoIP provider’s computer phone, a confidential phone number and password should be given to protect against unauthorized installation. To protect against unauthorized installation, your computer phone’s setup process should combine the phone name and hardware data from the PC on which it was installed to create a unique ID string known only to that VoIP’s own server. Because of the association between the unique ID with that particular PC, it prevents one person from reconfiguring their VoIP service’s computer phone to spoof another. It also prevents someone from copying that VoIP service’s software to another PC and then using it without having gone through the password-protected installation process.

3. Client Server Model: The VoIP service should follow a client-server model. The client is the softphone offered by a particular VoIP service. That particular VoIP service’s Server should be behind a highly secure proprietary firewall hosted in a professional facility. Any information shared should therefore only be between the client and server of that particular VoIP service. This means, that unlike some peer-to-peer solutions, private information about “buddy” lists or call patterns, etc., remains entirely confidential.

4. Softphone Setup: Firewalls vary widely and each network configuration may be quite different. When a VoIP service’s softphone first initializes, it discovers its ability to reach that VoIP’s service server, as well as a variety of ports and protocols for placing calls, depending on the results of its discovery. In a strict environment, the VoIP service’s softphone uses the same path the proprietary firewall already permits for web browsing (typically TCP ports 80 and 443). This allows users to make calls from anywhere without compromising or reconfiguring their own firewalls.

The VoIP service’s softphone should be able to initiate conversations with that VoIP service’s server and keep the server updated as to its status. By doing this, no public IP address needs to be setup for the PC running the computer phone. It also enables user flexibility without concern about security or privacy when moving from network to network. The VoIP service’s computer phone should be compatible with Network Address Translation (NAT) and Port Address Translation (PAT), and the kind of dynamic addressing that is found in wireless “hotspots”, hotel internet access, and dial-up.

5. Monitoring Capability: A strong security model should include an auditing mechanism to monitor usage and activity. This means that each computer phone should include its own usage log, enabling users to look through their own personal history of inbound, outbound, and missed calls. In addition, the VoIP service’s website should provide users the ability to view all individual phone call charges using the already set up confidential number and password.

Exotic Car Rental Advice

Exotic Car Rental Breakdown

Renting an exotic car isn’t an simple decision to partake in. If you have a passion for autos, it’s a safe bet you’d have some level of core interest in an exotic car rental. Spectacular, exotic car rentals are a luxury not available to just anyone. Cost is the decisive factor, of course, and this is where renting an exotic car comes into play. Spending this kind of money will wake up anyone, even those who have to use a CPAP sleep apnea machine.

A potential barrier in your pursuit to rent an exotic car is the true rental cost itself. Expect to spend anywhere from a several hundred bucks to several thousand a day. No chump change, I know, but let’s break this down a little. Our example car will be a Ferrari F430, a premier exotic with arguably the choice ancestry in automotive history.

A brand new Ferrari F430 costs a good $200,000; perhaps about $30-40k less for a used version. So, lets say the monthly car note is $1500-2000. Again, expensive as a mofo for 99% of the population. Curiously, this is the same amount of cash you’d expect to spend for a single day’s rental! If after you factor in the cost of buying a Ferrari outright from a dealer to renting it from an exotic car rental firm, the price comes out to be fair by most accounts.

I urge saving up your pennies, and partaking in an exotic car rental at least once–birthdays are good–just to experience it. Having done it a few times for various reasons, I can tell you renting an automobile of this order of magnitude is well worth the cost of admission. It’s like getting Botox without the enduring dedication: a Botox alternatives to the real thing, in other words. Enjoyment without the dedication

How to make oil painting?

How to make oil painting?

This article is a brief overview about the basics of Oil Painting. Lets first understand that an oil painting differs from the any other paint form in the technique and material used to make the paint itself.

As we are all aware of the fact, that to erect an amazing skyscraper and to neglect the integrity of the foundation would be foolhardy. Most certainly the technique is not a steadfast rule that is applicable to make paintings. Merely a guide to get going towards a method the individual artists could conform to, making a style of their own.

The basic framework follows the following steps:

1. Preparing the canvas.

2. Making the right blend of paint material.

3. Making the Under Painting.

4. Glazing.

5. Drying.

6. Final Varnish.

Lets ponder a little bit more about the technique:

Canvas Selection: First is the canvas selection with a certain amount of surface roughness. The material has to be firm and dry. The canvas should be laid tight or pasted on to the painting board lest there would be surface cracks in your painting.

Paint material: Next is to choose the perfect blend of colors from your coloring palette. Also the painting material has to be of various viscosities. Each layer has a little bit more oil than the one before. This again ensures there wouldn’t be any cracking of the layers as the painting ages.

Making the Under Painting: This is the most critical step in creating an oil painting. First make a rough sketch perhaps with charcoal, pencil or oil sketch. Then apply a layer of paint. This should be the thinnest coat also called as the ‘imprimatura’. This layer is going to be our ground color with no transparency. Dilute the paint with turpentine; so you get that fine viscosity. On this layer we will further apply our sequentially thicker paint with various blends.

Glazing: This is performed to add to the glossy appeal of the oil paints, which is where the light penetrates through various layers to give the stunning visual esthetics. There are various glaze material ranging from balsam, resins and lacquers. The latest lacquers tend to dry quickly but the time could be manipulated with addition of more oil it could be retarded or with spirit it could be accelerated.

Drying: The final painting is allowed to dry for five to seven days. Then a careful inspection of the painting will reveal any discrepancies such as a crack or disintegration of color blends. If the right method is followed the faults can be eliminated.

Final varnish: A coat of varnish is applied to the painting after couple of months, so it retains it gloss. Now it is ready to be framed and displayed.

Frames: The choice of frames is also an important aspect in enhancing the esthetic quality of the painting. It is so chosen, that it magnifies the character of the painting, rather than just masking it. Quick review about the material of painting: There are very many materials available in the market; some choose to make their own recipes from shoe polish of neutral shade, zinc cream to prevent color disintegration from exposure to sun, oil, turpentine and resins for varnish. Most commercial preparations have all the elements blended but choosing the right one can be a matter of trial and error.

Heart Health and Weight Loss Come Quicker and Better Using These Exercise Principles

About 100 years ago, when I was on the high school track team, Coach Miller “encouraged” us to do “wind sprints”. We would jog around the track for a while, suddenly break into a sprint for about 40 yards and then slow down to a walk as our lungs cried out “Please don’t do that again.”

In the beginning we looked upon this activity as an extreme form of punishment but we learned later that these alternating intensity workouts, now known as interval training, dramatically improved our energy and performance.

Don’t panic. I’m not recruiting for the geriatric track team but there is a law of nature at work here that applies to the young or old, fit or fat. Our Creator designed the human body with the miraculous ability to adapt.

Natalie, our adopted granddaughter spent the first thirteen months of her life confined to a crib in a crowded, understaffed hospital in Siberia. Upon arriving in her new home in Dallas, Natalie immediately began to make up for lost time. In a few short months she rushed from crawling to walking to sprinting like an Olympic gymnast.

Natalie’s Mom and Dad will attest to the fact that her “normal” activity level accelerated from inactive to an astounding high-energy dynamo.

If you are a couch potato (heaven forbid) or in the “as little as possible” exercise category you too can make dramatic progress in your physical condition by employing the interval training concept. And it will take as little as three 29-minutes sessions per week.

A Canadian study followed exercisers who burned 300 to 400 calories per session. A control group matched the same routine one-third of the time. Two thirds of the time they exercised for a shorter period during which they burned only 225-250 calories-but they included occasional 30-90 second bursts of high-intensity exercise. The fat loss of the group who worked out less was nine times greater than the subjects performing moderate exercise.

Of the three key exercise variables…how often you do it, how hard you work and how long you last, intensity has the most powerful effect. Your body responds to short bursts of intensity by releasing a cascade of fat-mobilizing hormones and anti-aging growth hormones that supercharge your metabolism and burn extra calories for 24 hours or longer.

Fat loss is only one of the benefits. A new study by British researchers tracked 1,975 healthy men over ten years. The men who exercised the hardest had a 47% percent lower risk of death from all causes and a whopping 62% lower risk of death from heart disease, compared with those who reported very little or no intense exercise. The best part however is that these benefits were achieved with as little as nine minutes per day of vigorous activity.

The principle of adaptation also applies to strengthening your muscles, which need to be worked hard to become stronger. The average person loses up to 20 pounds of muscle by age 70 and since each pound of muscle burns up to 50 calories per day it is easy to see why “love handles” and “spare tires” sneak up on us.

Those who are on a low carb diet (I hate the word diet) such as Dr. Atkins Diet or South Beach Diet your exercise has a distinct advantage over the low-fat dieters. Low carbers have a limited amount of glycogen (stored sugar) available and so the body utilizes the fat on the belly, hips and other unwanted places as the primary sources of energy during exercise.

Think you’re too old or out of shape to get started on “wind sprints”? It’s never too late to start feelin’ great!
