What You Should Know before Purchasing Teak Platform Bed Sheets

A long time ago when I was a child, I remember that all the asian platform bed sheets in my house had to be white cotton ones. today you find so much variety in these bedding that it becomes difficult to choose. The latest bedding are available in appealing prints and colorings that change the look of your bedroom

The following are some factors that matter a lot when you purchase a bedsheet.

Evaluate the sizing of your bed

Though we are all aware what a twin or king or queen sizing bed is, that there are no standard proportions for these beds. The top dimensions might be the same, but again the measurings differ with each manufacturer. So make sure that you estimate all the measurements of your bed from top to bottom and also the thickness of the mattress you are using. Often similar beds from the same brand are longer or wider than each other. Measuring your bed will give you an idea of the size of your bedsheet before purchasing.

Zero down on the Bedding store

You will find a lot of top makes in bed linen available in a departmental store near you. If you want something ethnic like embroidered or luxurious ones there might be a shop selling what you want close by. Another choice is to shop online for the largest diversity. In case you wish to purchase regular you can get a good deal at a discount rate outlet.

Do you know what is a thread count?

A thread count refers to the amount of threads contained in one square inch of the bedsheet in both directions of the weave. The label of the bedsheet has the thread count impressed on it. More the thread count, more is the richness of the fabric. However do not go for a very high thread count as it entails the singular threads are light and may not give the preferred easy feeling. A soft bed sheet has a thread count that lies between 175 and 250.

Choose the bed sheet fabric.

A material that is reasonably priced and feels nice to sleep on is the one for you. Though cotton fiber is the most chosen material, some people go for the cotton blends as they do not crease. A chili night calls for a flannel bedsheet. Then there is the all time favorite silk, satin or microfiber that offers luxury.

Calculate the sizing of the bedsheet

Measuring the bedsheet before purchasing is as important as measuring the bed size. Refer the bed size and find out if the chosen bedsheet will be perfect for it. Take into account the average 7% shrinking that all undergo after the first washing. It is a good idea to stock up some extra sets of bedding. They help greatly in case one of the sheets is torn or soiled..

Once all the above factors are taken care of, you are sure to buy a nice and affordable bed sheet soon!

Review: Voices of America: St. Petersburg An Oral History

Compiled by Scott Taylor Hartzell

Publishers: Arcadia Publishing and imprint of Tempus Publishing Inc

ISBN: 0-7385-1425-X

Prior to 1888, St Petersburg, Florida was a tiny fishing village where deer, bear, raccoons, panthers, wildcats, gators and rattlesnakes roamed the area. Not exactly what we would imagine if we traveled to the sunshine city today.

In 1880 a Russian, Pyotr A. Dementyev, who later shortened his name to Peter Demens, established a lumber company in Florida and became the owner of the Orange Belt Railroad. Demens teamed up with the founding father of St. Petersburg, J.C. Williams and the pair brought the railroad to St. Petersburg in 1888. Henceforth, this tiny village was never the same, as it transformed itself into a thriving southern city.

Divided into three sections, The Dawn of St. Petersburg, The Glorious Boom and the Bust and Beyond, Scott Taylor Hartzell’s Voices of America: St. Petersburg An Oral History takes us on a journey where we meet many of the pioneers who contributed to making St. Petersburg as to what it is today.

The portraits of the many characters are fascinating, as we learn about such entrepreneurs as George S. Gandy who was instrumental in building the Gandy Bridge that extends over Tampa Bay.

There were the developers, who some described as half con-artists and half entrepreneurs, such as Eugene Elliott, who some believed could sell anything to anyone. It was he, who during the construction of the Gandy Bridge bought 3, 200 acres of land near the bridge on Weedon Island- most of which was underwater.

To increase the value of the land, Elliott planted Indian artifacts and other relics on his so called “Riviera” and tried to dupe the Smithsonian Institute into believing that these objects were authentic, however, the Institute did not fall prey to his shenanigans.

Included among this group was also C. Perry Snell, who in 1925 with a bankroll of $3 million announced his plans for his “Pearl of Pinellas,” eventually Snell Isle was completed but only after several ups and downs.

Others who we meet during our voyage into St. Petersburg’s history are Katherine Bell Tippetts, the City’s Queen, who was a writer, humanitarian, conservationist and civic leader, Jay B. Starkey (Starkey Road was named after him), the Pinellas Cowboy, the founder of Haslams book store, Charles Shepard Haslam, the Murphys, who are the city oral historians, Chester Lucius James Sr. who nurtured the black community like a father, and several other inventive entrepreneurs and socialites who were instrumental in contributing to the development and coming of age of St. Petersburg.

One of the methods of assembling, safeguarding and perceiving the history pertaining to a particular city is through recorded interviews with individuals who over time may have been forgotten or ignored. These folks very often fill in the details with their memories and voices as to who, what, where and why events occurred. It is their living life experiences that are vital in understanding the past and enabling us to have a broader perspective of events Voices of America: St. Petersburg An Oral History is the compilation of these voices that bring the past forward and giving us a more balanced view of history.

The Rich Jerk Revealed

The Rich Jerk is the one of the hottest e-books on the net and I
think one of the best I have read. He uses a different type of
marketing and are making some people very mad, marketing with an
attitude. He does make sure you understand he is rich, lazy, and
obnoxious and not to waste his time right from the start.

I ran across his website when I was looking for some ideas to
improve my website and his type of marketing caught my
attention. As I read more of his sales page I just got more
interested. Now I have tried a lot of work at home techniques
and been burned on a lot of them so I decided to use some of my
research skills to find out who The Rich Jerk really was and if
he really was rich or even if he knew what he was talking about.

His real name is Kelly Felix, he is a 27 year old Blond hair,
5′9″ Blue eyed guy who lived in Carlsbad, Ca now. He is married
to his wife Summer and has two kids, and two dogs. You might
have seen him in some moves or TV shows because that is how he
got his start. All the facts I could find about his website are
real. Kelly made most of his money on the internet with Credit
Pro, Inc. a internet affiliate marketing company that they
started from there small apartment. What I could find is he did
make 13 Million in six years. If you search on ebay you can
still find the website he sold for $379.000 in August 2005.
Kelly and his wife started and run guesswhatiheard.com in 2004;
it is a site like myspace. If you would like to see Kelly and
his wife click here. The site was featured on TV and is very
popular with the MTV crowd and gets about 500,000 hits. The site
also sponsored the Emmy Awards Hollywood buffet party in
September of 2005. You can view some pictures of the Pre-Grammy
party here also. Kelly tells you about some of his other sites
in his book. The Rich Jerk is in the process of doing a
commercial for his website that is suppose to air sometime in
late Febuary.

So after doing my reach I was even more interested in his book
so I spent the $49 and ordered it from one of his affiliates
because I wanted the other free books that came with it (another
tip from the book). Surprisingly the book is only about 60 pages
and gets right to the point. I have been working on the internet
for over ten years and a lot of the tips and tricks he has in
his book I would have never thought of. I had to read the book
three times to get some of it and I have started using three of
the techniques in this course on some of my websites and already
seeing results.

The Rich Jerk site is 3,0000th most popular site on the internet
and somewhere around the 2nd or 3rd in click bank. The site has
gotten over 2 Million unique visitors in the last 5 months so I
guess he knows what he is talking about. This book is not for
beginners because a lot of the techniques are pretty advanced
but in the last revision he released he added a chapter for
beginners. I highly recommend The Rich Jerk book to anyone that
knows something about internet marking or currently already has
a website they just need more sales or visitors.

Some of the other topics in the book are money making affiliate
programs, Adwords/Adsense, E-currency trading, HYIPS, selling on
ebay, search engine Optimization, writing sales letters and
more. This book has a little for anyone that is doing business
on the internet.
